VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: Inspired by Purpose-Driven Business Leaders in Asia - Harry T. Jones

L-R Spark Board Member Harry T. Jones, Spark entrepreneur Climmie Mosley (H&M BBQ), and Co-Founder & Spark Board Member Dr. Sharon Edwards

At Spark Thomasville, dedicated helpful volunteers generously give their time, expertise, and passion to support our mission of empowering underestimated entrepreneurs.

May I introduce you to another one of these extraordinary individuals, Harry T. Jones, a founding board member and hard-working advocate for our organization? I hope you will read on.

Years ago, Harry T. Jones embarked on a life-changing trip to Central Asia where he witnessed firsthand the incredible impact of some purpose-driven businesses. The business leaders he met leveraged the power of commerce to uplift entire communities, and their energy and passion were palpable.

What he learned on that trip influenced him to be intimately involved in Spark Thomasville.

On that trip to Central Asia, Harry learned the amazing potential of purpose through business.

He met business leaders who were intentional about positively impacting the lives of everyone associated with their enterprises. They embraced the value that helping their people succeed in every area of life was almost as important as making a profit.

Seeing the childlike joy these leaders experienced when providing for their employees and families, Harry was inspired. The released energy was evident as they trained their people not just on the job, but also in developing their minds, serving their families, and being integral in their communities.

Their passion extended beyond their employees; they were even sold out to make their vendors and customers succeed as well. Their intentional commitment to changing lives through their businesses set Harry on fire.

Returning home, Harry doubled down on using his business to make a profit and lift humanity. With guidance from his mentor, he discovered that his partner, Randy Harvey, had always had a heart for people who needed second chances. They were already providing multiple chances to people, but now they fully embraced it as part of their purpose.

Embracing the paradigm that their business purpose was to impact lives for good released energy and passion into their lives. It got them out of bed with gusto every morning and ended their days with significance.

Today, helping entrepreneurs all over the world leave legacy businesses and finish well is his passion at Cultivating Impact. He has recently published his first book, Succession Planning for Impact.

Having a sense of purpose to change lives for the better provides the fuel for a great business, as Harry T. Jones discovered. Helping underestimated entrepreneurs build wealth across the community through Spark Thomasville is part of that purpose.

Thank you Harry T. Jones!

With gratitude,

DeShay Williams

Executive Director
